I’ve been living in Mexico for almost 5 months now, which is almost as hard to believe as the fact that my grant is over in just over 4 months! I want to document my time here so far with a little round-up. The last few months have been filled with a combination of working at the UTTT, getting to know Tula, and traveling to other parts of Mexico. The best way to sum up how I feel is: grateful. Grateful for the friends that I’ve made, other Fulbrighters and people in Tula. Grateful for the chance to see cities, “Magical Towns,” and Mexico’s natural beauty. Grateful that I still have more time here.
September: Tula de Allende, Hidalgo; San Miguel de Allende; Mexico City.
October: Santiago de Queretaro; Real del Monte, Hidalgo; Guanajuato for the Cervantino Festival; Chapulhuacan, Hidalgo.
November: Dia de los Muertos in D.F.; Hot Air Balloon Festival in Leon, Guanajuato; Bernal and Tequisquiapan, Queretaro; International Book Fair in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
December: Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo; Yucatan; Mexico City
I’m looking forward to all that I’ll learn and see over the next few months. There are many places and experiences still on my “bucket list,” especially Chiapas and Oaxaca!
